The stigmatisation of Roma is deeply rooted.
In recent years they have often been bad-mouthed as “poverty immigrants”. Even when it’s clear that, guaranteed, no one would migrate to Germany to be poor here. It’d be more appropriate to speak of “Work Immigrants”. Also, by the way, more Doctors come from Romania than from any other country. Migration of the elite is fatal for South East Europe. Troublemakers have often actually got no idea and refuse to adapt their stereotypical worldview of reality.
Announcing your solidarity with discriminated people is therefore not just beneficial for those affected, but also a voice against stereotyping and for diversity.
